Adam’s Focus
Public Safety
I believe public safety is paramount. I want the County we live in to be the safest in the Country. A place where criminals fear committing crime.
Drugs & Opioid Crisis
I believe we have to get creative in addressing the drug and opioid crisis. It affects our communities and is a danger to every citizen in Douglas County.
School Safety
I am a firm believer in School Resource Officers. The safety of our children should be given the highest priority.
Mental Health Crisis
Mental Health is one of the biggest issues our community and Law Enforcement face every day. We have to make this a priority and work collaboratively to address it.
Gang Related Crime
I am a firm believer in the “Broken Windows Theory” that suggests that signs of crime and disorder, like broken windows and graffiti, can create an environment that encourages more of the same behavior or worse.
Police Staffing
An issue facing most law enforcement agencies in the State. My goal would be to facilitate a culture that makes the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office a destination agency.
Protecting Your Rights
As Sheriff, I believe that protecting your Constitutional Rights is my primary duty. I will have the courage to uphold the Constitution and will not enforce laws that infringe upon your rights and government overreach.
Training
I believe training is essential to remain proficient in law enforcement. I was always taught that “We don’t rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training”.
